GAA County Final Success for Ward Automation Engineers
There is great excitement at Ward Automation’s Sligo site this week in the lead up to the GAA County Sligo and County Donegal finals.
Three Ward Automation engineers have qualified to play in three separate divisions of the County Sligo finals this coming weekend, while a fourth Ward Automation engineer will compete in County Donegal finals next weekend.
First to play from Ward Automation will be County Sligo native Niall Hodgins. He will play with Owenmore Gaels in the Connacht Gold Junior A Football Championship final against Tourlestrane. The match will take place in Markievicz Park at 6pm on Saturday 19th September.

Next up will be Johnny Kelly playing with St. Molaise Gaels. The team beat St. Farnans in the semi-final to qualify for the Connacht Gold Intermediate Football Championship, which will take place against Curry on Sunday 20th September at 1pm.
Cian Surlis will play with his side of Tourlestrane against Drumcliffe / Rosses Point in the Homeland Senior Football Championship at 4pm on Sunday 20th September. Tourlestrane were the winners of the Senior County title for the last four years. Cian hopes that next week’s match will see the team continue their winning streak and take home their fifth consecutive title.

The final Ward Automation engineer to play will be Gary Carty with his home team Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon. They will play against Cloughaneely in the Donegal Intermediate A Championship. The Ballyshannon side will be looking for a win, after Cloughaneely beat them last year in the county semi-final. The match is scheduled for Saturday 26th September with time and venue yet to be confirmed.
200 supporters will now be allowed to attend the matches with the country currently at Level 2 under the terms of the Government’s ‘Resilience and Recovery 2020-2021: Plan for Living with COVID-19’.
