Electrical Machine Build Technician
The Role
Electrical machine build is a highly technical craft role that is crucial to the success of producing the company’s high quality automation equipment for use in the Medical Device and Pharma industries. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical technician to work as part of the engineering project team. You will have the opportunity of working with leading edge automation technologies such as robotics, vision systems, drives, controls systems etc. It’s a hands on role that involves the electrical, mechanical assembly and debug of complex machines. The role contributes significantly to the continued success of Ward Automation.
Responsibilities
- Working from the design drawings to perform the electrical and mechanical assembly of bespoke machines
- Electrical wiring of machine control panels and field wiring of machines
- Mechanical assembly of bespoke machines
- Mark-up of and electrical drawings
- Liaise and communicate with the different project team members
- Responsible for the quality of the build
- Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic debug of machines
- Ensuring that machine build timelines and targets are achieved
- Installation of equipment on the customers site
Key Skills
- Ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings
- Capable of clearly understanding the functionality of the equipment being built
- Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative solutions both mechanically and electrically
- A high degree of craft skill with the ability to setup machines to fine tolerances to produce the desired results
- Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring accuracy and precision in work.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS office.

Experience/Qualifications
Qualified Electrician or Fitter or Level 7 in a relevant engineering discipline
Three years’ experience in a similar electrical role
