Shauna Ward to Represent Ireland

Ward Automation’s Shauna Ward has been selected for the Irish Surf Team to compete at the upcoming ISA World Surf Games in Japan.

This World Surf Games is of particular importance due to its status as a qualifier for Surfing’s debut in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Shauna, a four-time winner of the Irish Women’s Surf Championships, calls the North-West of Ireland the perfect place to live for a great work-life balance. It is home to some of the best waves in the world and all are within a half-hour drive from Ward Automations new state of the art facility in Sligo.

The Irish Surf Team consists of three male and three female athletes, five of which are from the North-West. The team will travel to Japan together in early September.

Shauna has competed with the Irish Surf Team a number of times and has previously earned a top 20 finish in the ISA World Games event as well as a bronze medal in the European Junior Championships. She has also managed the Irish Junior Surf Team alongside Irish Surf Association coaches Jason Southcomb and Andrew Kilfeather.
