New Technology Meets Old on Medical Device Assembly Machine

The first machine built by Ward Automation in Sligo in 1995 was a mechanical cam machine. We have leveraged our years of experience of cam design and combined the latest technology of a high-speed Delta robot (120 picks/min), vision guidance & inspection and servo control on a recently completed medical device assembly machine.
Our customer required assembly of 3 products. Our team created a highly flexible machine producing the 3 product lines within a small footprint, which reduces our customer’s cleanroom costs and other costs associated with running three separate machines.
The machine features a high-end stainless steel finish and 21CFR11 compliant audit trail with batch report.

Other features include custom step feeders, vibratory feed systems, spring assembly, O-ring assembly and force testing of the products.
